Our History

Welcome to this hub of academic excellence. I would like to share with you a summary of the birth story of Legacy Education Tools and how it has gone on to produce smiles on the faces of students and families and business clients.

The decision to set up Legacy Education Tools was made out of a burning desire to change the situations and depressing stories of struggling students. At some point in my PhD studies, I offered to teach in a number of primary and secondary schools in London. I was always assigned to struggling or special needs students to help them achieve their academic goals. This role was challenging as it usually involved changing the students’ attitudes towards learning and filling in wide knowledge gaps that has accumulated over years. The teachers who were then leaving those roles for me to take over compounded the challenge by leaving discouraging remarks about the tasks ahead of me. But what was meant to weaken my resolve to help was rather an excellent source of strength, as challenges drive creativity in me. Being creative about the approach to teaching spurred me on to succeed where others could not achieve the desired outcomes.

The successes I achieved in getting low-achieving learners back on track within record time and the resultant joy brought them was the steam that powered my passion and love for tutoring. This love affair immediately conceptualised and gave birth to Legacy Education Tools, to form a formidable team that can support more learners than I can do as one individual. We have gone on since its formation to positively affect hundreds of young lives at all levels of education, and are even poised to do more.

To preserve the original love and passion for many decades to come, we carefully select our tutors, resources and supporting partners by using rigorous criteria. As a result, approximately 98% of our previous and existing students, as well as clients, were sourced by voluntary word of mouth campaign by them.

Tutoring in academic fields is not my only passion. I have always dreamt to acquire the requisite knowledge and experience to be able to professionally support businesses as well, a burning desire I have carried for more than 2 decades, beginning in my early year as an undergraduate student. The baptism by an international organisation known in the days as Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE), perhaps validated this idea.

As a young Executive member of SIFE in 2003/2004, we helped small and rural businesses by offering them basic book keeping, marketing, sales, and customer skills. The transformative impact on their businesses gave the team joy, but it gave me something more than joy. It gave me confidence, courage as well as a sense of responsibility to extend these services to many more struggling businesses. For small businesses anywhere in the world is a source of livelihood to billions of private citizens.

Since 2004, absolutely nothing has quenched this passion, and I can’t think of anything that can quell it. Our team draws from rich backgrounds in marketing, business and law to propel small businesses to thrive.

Approved CURRICULUM

Our curriculum and methods for teaching strictly aligned with the dictates of the national curriculum. As a result, teachers in the regular schools where our pupils attend frequently recognise improvement in the pupils that we tutor. It is not surprising, therefore, that most of our pupils are prolific award winners.

Professional TUTORS
